WWE Superstar Big E opened up about his plans for the future ahead of a potential return to television. The New Day member, however, teased his retirement from in-ring action.
The former WWE Champion has been absent from in-ring action since March 2022. He suffered a horrific neck injury while competing in a tag team match on SmackDown. Although the 38-year-old underwent surgery, he has yet to receive medical clearance to wrestle.
Big E recently wrote a piece for The Player's Tribune, highlighting his life journey. While writing about his future in the business, the former WWE Intercontinental Champion mentioned his neck injury and the uncertainty surrounding his in-ring career. The New Day member noted that he is at peace with the whole situation and is excited about exploring new opportunities outside the squared circle.
"You know that thing I said earlier — how I’m someone who spent his past not being able to picture a future? I can picture one now. Which is ironic, I guess, since I broke my neck and can’t wrestle. But I’m at peace. And if that’s truly a wrap on my in-ring career….... I’m excited to explore the paths that are opening up for me in its wake. Whether it’s working for WWE outside of the ring, or it’s hosting, or acting, or voice work, or filmmaking, or so many other things. I feel like there are still so many parts of myself for me to discover," he wrote.

He further reflected on his life-changing journey with The New Day. The multi-time tag team champion added that he is curious to see if he can stretch his creativity beyond wrestling.
"I feel like I’ve spent the last 10 years with Woods and Kofi on this amazing, life-changing project: trying to perform a version of wrestling that’s in the image of all the things we love. And now I want to find out how far I can stretch that project past wrestling. I want to see if I can actually create some of those things we love."

WWE has not advertised Big E for The New Day's 10-year anniversary celebration
Last week, WWE announced that the December 2, edition of Monday Night RAW would celebrate The New Day completing ten years in the wrestling promotion.
Big E is expected to make his return to the red brand to celebrate the milestone with Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods. However, the wrestling promotion has yet to confirm his appearance for the show.
Woods and Kingston have been teasing a split for several weeks. It will be interesting to see if Big E can help calm things down between the two teammates.
