Former New Day member Big E recently attended a non-WWE event with his girlfriend, Kris Yim. The former WWE Champion also delivered a message to commemorate the event that happened in Glendale, Arizona.
One of the reasons why Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods kicked out E of the New Day is his duties with the company. He has been making appearances in behalf of WWE, including the 2024 Vrbo Fiesta Bowl at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale on December 31st.
In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, two-time Intercontinental Champion shared a photo of himself with his girlfriend Kris Yim on the sidelines of the Fiesta Bowl. He also dropped a four-word message to Kris, who is the sister of SmackDown star Michin:
"That's my best friend," Big E tweeted.
A top AEW star just called one of his colleagues 'spoiled' and 'narcissistic' HERE.
The inactive WWE star was the hyped man for the Fiesta Bowl between the Penn State Nittany Lions and Boise State Broncos. Penn State dominated the matchup, beating Boise State 31-14.
He is a huge fan of football having played it in college for the Iowa Hawkeyes. However, an injury forced him to change his sport and switch to powerlifting before becoming a pro wrestler.
Big E opens up on his recovery from a neck injury
One of the biggest questions about Big E is the condition of his neck. He has not wrestled since breaking his neck on the March 11, 2022, episode of SmackDown following a freak accident taking an overhead belly-to-belly suplex from Ridge Holland.
With his recent storyline with Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods kicking him out of The New Day, some fans were hopeful about his return from injury. However, the former WWE Champion didn't sound confident discussing his injury in an appearance on The Mike Broomhead Show last month.
"I still haven’t been cleared. Thankfully, I feel great. I don't have any issues, nothing like that. Didn’t need surgery. But I was in a hard collar for three months. ... I'm grateful to have no issues, no pain, nothing like that," Big E said. [H/T: Cageside Seats]
The eight-time Tag Team Champion fractured his C1 and C6 vertebrae but didn't suffer any spinal cord injury.
