WWE Backlash was refreshingly entertaining, primarily due to the enthusiastic Puerto Rican fans that saw their fellow countryman Bad Bunny in action. While the world-renowned rapper put on an incredible performance, he thought he would lose his life after a grueling street fight.
Bad Bunny competed in his first-ever singles match against Damien Priest, and WWE stayed true to Puerto Rico's hardcore wrestling roots by booking them to have a San Juan Street Fight. Despite being a celebrity performer, the Grammy Award winner took some brutal bumps en route to his victory against The Archer of Infamy.
During a recent interview with New Music Daily's Zane Lowe, Bad Bunny confirmed that he was legitimately hurt after his Backlash match with Damian Priest. The pain was so severe that Bunny believed he was about to die!
The 29-year-old artist has demonstrated time and time again that he is a true workhorse over the past several months, and he gave another example of this when he produced a brand-new song just a few weeks after taking on a difficult pro wrestling assignment at Backlash.

"I suffered. Yeah, I got hurt. I got hurt. My back, my back. My whole body, bro. My whole body. I felt that I was going to die after that match. I really thought that I was going to die after the match, but it's part of it. I was prepared then, and now I'm going to drop a song. I know. I'm a crazy guy. I love it. I love it, and that's what matters." [H/t Fightful]
'It was really one of the biggest and best moments of my life': Bad Bunny on WWE Backlash
The Puerto Rican rapper has been a lifelong pro wrestling fan, and performing in his country was truly a dream come true.
Bunny and Priest stole the show in a chaotic affair that featured interferences from The Judgment Day and LWO, along with the WWE returns of Carlito and Savio Vega.
While Bad Bunny entered the ring twice before Backlash, first at WrestleMania 37 and then later as a surprise entrant in the Royal Rumble, his Street Fight in Puerto Rico was on "another level" for him personally.
"Wow, that was insane. That was really crazy, the people, the energy was another level. What happened that night, I'm never going to forget it. I remember, I said before the WrestleMania fight that day was one of my favorite moments of my life, but the Backlash fight in Puerto Rico was another level," Bunny admitted. "It was really one of the biggest and best moments of my life; I really enjoyed that fight."
