Bill Goldberg returned to WWE in 2016 after 12 years away from the company. In an exclusive interview, the Hall of Famer's son Gage reminisced about witnessing his father's wrestling stardom in person for the first time.
At Survivor Series 2016, Bill Goldberg shocked fans by defeating Brock Lesnar in an 86-second match. Gage had appeared on WWE RAW with his father in the build-up to the bout.
Speaking to Sportskeeda Wrestling's Senior Editor Bill Apter, Gage shared positive memories about the time he saw his dad's "greatness" in WWE:
"He retired when I was born. Maybe [Goldberg retired due to Gage being born]. I saw him in [the movie] The Longest Yard, I saw him on YouTube a bunch, and then when I was 12 he came back. That's when I really saw the greatness and everything, all the lineage going back there. It was awesome." [2:05 – 2:29]

How WWE fans reacted to Bill Goldberg
In 2016, fans reacted positively to Bill Goldberg's long-awaited WWE return. The former WCW star also received a fan-favorite reception when he confronted Gunther at Bad Blood on October 5.
Gage Goldberg attended Bad Blood with his parents and enjoyed hearing how the crowd reacted to his father:
"Every single event we went to [loud crowd reactions] when he walked out. The last one we went to, we just were walking to our seat in the actual stands and everyone chanted Goldberg. It was awesome, it was awesome." [2:40 – 2:50]
In the same interview, Gage Goldberg revealed he once broke someone's neck doing one of his dad's legendary WWE moves.
