Bobby Lashley reveals how Vince McMahon reacted to WWE sisters storyline idea

Bobby Lashley was involved in an outlandish storyline with his three fictional sisters after returning to WWE in 2018. In a recent interview, the current AEW star revealed what Vince McMahon thought about the idea.

On the May 7, 2018, episode of RAW, Lashley spoke about the tough love his sisters gave him as a child. Two weeks later, three men impersonated The All Mighty's sisters during a RAW segment with Sami Zayn. The widely criticized storyline development ended with Lashley standing tall after attacking his fake family members.

Speaking to Chris Van Vliet, the 48-year-old recalled how he once addressed his far-fetched storylines with McMahon. He said the former WWE Chairman liked the sister angle and laughed when he mentioned it:

"He put me through some crazy storylines, some very cringy storylines, and everything, but I kinda tried to find out why," Lashley stated. "Sometimes you go ask him, it's like, 'Okay, Vince, so they're telling me that you want me to go beat up these three guys dressed up as girls calling them my sisters?' When you tell him that [the response is], 'Hahaha, that's great.'" [51:22 – 51:54]

Lashley won the WWE Championship in 2021 and 2022 when McMahon was still in charge of main roster storylines. He left the company in August and recently joined AEW.

Before becoming a professional wrestler, Bobby Lashley served in the military and competed in amateur wrestling. He also fought as a mixed martial artist later in his career.

According to Lashley, Vince McMahon booked him in unconventional storylines because he wanted him to broaden his acting range:

"He said, 'Bobby, you are so strict and regimented. You're a super nice guy. Everybody loves you. But you're so strict on yourself and so hard on yourself, I wanna see different layers of you, I want them to see different layers of you because I've seen different layers of you but we can't get it on TV because you're almost so military.'" On November 23, Lashley defeated Swerve Strickland at Full Gear in his first pay-per-view match since joining AEW.
