Legendary wrestling booker and manager Dutch Mantell recently offered his thoughts on the back-and-forth exchanges between Ahmed Johnson and Booker T.
In November 2023, Johnson challenged Booker T to a fight at a wrestling dojo. The former Intercontinental Champion also threatened to disclose an alleged secret about Booker's time in prison. The NXT commentator responded by claiming Johnson is a "notorious liar."
On Story Time with Dutch Mantell, Mantell said Booker would be the clear winner if a fight ever happened between the two:
"Booker T would beat the s**t out of Ahmed. Booker T, when it comes to throwing the hands, he can go. He really can go. And Booker T has stayed in shape." [16:37 – 16:50]
A top AEW star just called one of his colleagues 'spoiled' and 'narcissistic' HERE.
Booker T, 58, last wrestled in the 2023 Men's Royal Rumble match, while 60-year-old Johnson has not competed in two decades.
Dutch Mantell speaks honestly about Ahmed Johnson
Between 1995 and 1998, Ahmed Johnson worked for WWE. In 2021, long-time creative team member Bruce Prichard revealed that The Pearl River Powerhouse was once viewed backstage as a possible world champion.
Mantell, known in WWE as Uncle Zebekiah at the time, recalled how Johnson only received an opportunity due to his impressive physique:
"I watched him in Madison Square Garden. People were going to the concession stand (...) But he's terrible and I don't know how he ever got booked. Because he's big and he had a body in those days, and Vince [McMahon], he liked that stuff." [13:58 – 14:18]
On the same podcast episode, Mantell did not hold back when assessing Karrion Kross' chances of facing Roman Reigns one day.
