Braun Strowman shared a positive health update today on social media amid his WWE hiatus. The Monster of All Monsters came down with the flu in recent weeks and has not been featured on SmackDown.
Ahead of tonight's edition of WWE RAW at SAP Center in San Jose, California, the former Universal Champion took to his Instagram story to share that he was feeling much better. The veteran showed off his physique in a new selfie as well, and you can check out his update on Instagram by clicking here.
"Aight we back in the grind. F*** the flu!!!" he wrote.
Braun Strowman also missed some time toward the end of 2024 with a torn groin suffered in the Last Monster Standing match against Bronson Reed last September. Reed will be on the shelf for the foreseeable future after a Tsunami Splash off the top of the cage at Survivor Series: WarGames 2024 went away.
Former WWE writer comments on how the company books Braun Strowman
Wrestling legend Vince Russo recently took WWE to task for how they utilize Braun Strowman on television.
Strowman was once one of the most feared stars on the roster, but that is no longer the case. Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's BroDown show, available via Backstage Pass, Russo noted that the 41-year-old used to be shown flipping over trucks on WWE television but has not been over with fans for years now.
The veteran suggested that the company must have changed their mind about Strowman because he is not booked how he used to be.
"Okay bro, you remember he was throwing over trucks and he was in that big angle with Roman Reigns. Okay bro. Something happens and you change your mind with him, then cut him loose. They definitely switched gears on this guy, and he's not been over for years." [From 23:07 onwards]
Braun Strowman has not competed in a match since his victory over Austin Theory on the December 27, 2024, episode of SmackDown. Only time will tell what the company has planned for the former champion when he is ready to return.
