The epic main event of SNME saw Cody Rhodes defeat Kevin Owens, albeit controversially. Owens not only got the three-count, but it happened after the referee, Charles Robinson, was accidentally taken out. The next referee was also taken out and Robinson hit the three-count from outside of the ring.
In a shocking moment after Saturday Night's Main Event went off the air, Cody Rhodes was attacked by Kevin Owens and stretchered out of the arena.

After this happened, Triple H got into a physical altercation with KO behind the stage - shoving him in a fit of rage.

Saturday Night's Main Event has historically been a show meant for two reasons - one, to see the biggest superstars wrestle on free television, and two, to extend storylines into the next stage or the next premium live event.
