Omos has been among WWE's most underutilized superstars this year. He has only made media appearances and has not been featured on television. He is set to make his debut outside of WWE and is challenging a legendary 45-year-old Champion.
NOAH Wrestling in Japan has maintained a good relationship with WWE over the last year or so - with Shinsuke Nakamura making his way to have high-profile matches for the promotion. He is headlining the upcoming New Year's NOAH show, but Omos will attend the event for his first match in 271 days.
Omos was announced as Jack Morris's tag team partner. The two will take on the legendary 45-year-old Naomichi Marafuji and Takashi Sugiura. Together, they are the GHC Tag Team Champions, meaning the Nigerian Giant will challenge for a title on his debut.
The WWE star insisted on the media appearance that he would crush Marufuji and Sugiura regardless of whether Jack Morris was around.
It will be interesting to see how he fares on a stage like that. Although it may not have the bright lights of WWE, NOAH is a great proving ground, and it will be a considerably different challenge for him in the ring.
Hopefully, it allows him to be utilized in WWE again.
