Bron Breakker says 4-time WWE champion is his greatest rival yet; teases more matches

Bron Breakker's dream run on WWE RAW came to a shocking end when he lost the Intercontinental Title to Jey Uso on Monday night. However, Main Event Jey is not his most prominent opponent just yet, as the former champion expressed that Carmelo Hayes is his greatest rival.

Bron Breakker and Carmelo Hayes are two of the most successful names from the developmental brand's recent reboot. The two stars have numerous titles to their names, and they both just started their run on WWE's main roster.

In an interview on 99.5 WKDQ, the second-generation star spoke highly of the two-time NXT North American, one-time Cruiserweight, and one-time NXT Champion. He also teased the two will have more matches in the company.

"Yeah, I would say that to this point. Him and I've been, sort of, built on the path near each other. We've stayed away from each other just to build the tension from one another. I'm excited to build our relationship over the years while being on the main roster and build that rivalry to maybe take it to the next step as him and I get better as wrestlers. Carmelo Hayes is 3-0 against Bron Breakker on WWE NXT

A few years ago, Bron Breakker and Carmelo Hayes dominated the men's division on WWE's developmental brand. Breakker was the NXT Champion, and Hayes captured the North American Championship twice.

A clash between the two stars became inevitable. In 2023, Carmelo Hayes made his intentions clear to go after the NXT Championship after defeating Apollo Crews. The 30-year-old star won the title from the second-generation star at Stand & Deliver 2023.

Later, Bron Breakker turned heel ahead of their rematch for the title at WWE NXT Battleground. In the end, Melo scored another one-on-one victory over the second-generation star.

The two stayed away from each other for a while and had their third encounter in October 2023. During the match, 'The Wiseman' Paul Heyman was in Breakker's corner, and John Cena was backing Hayes.
