WWE Superstar Bron Breakker is headed to Money in the Bank to compete for the Intercontinental Championship. Ahead of the premium live event, the star discussed his tag team alliance with a one-time United States Champion and one-time NXT Tag Team Champion, Baron Corbin.
Corbin and Breakker teamed up together a few months ago to form The Wolf Dogs. The duo went on to win the Tag Team Championship on the white and gold brand by defeating Channing Lorenzo and Tony D'Angelo of The Family faction.
After successfully defending the NXT Tag Team Title on two occasions, The Wolfdogs lost them to Axiom and Nathan Frazer. Post-match, the 26-year-old received massive appreciation from the audience as he was moved to the main roster immediately.
At MITB 2024, Breakker will face Sami Zayn for the IC title and has vouched to break his opponent in Toronto, Canada. During a conversation with The Ringer Wrestling Show, the former WWE NXT Champion opened up about his on and off-screen relationship with Baron Corbin:
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
"[Baron] and I had hit it off from the get-go. As soon as he came down to NXT, we hit it off immediately. It was really cool for me to be able to get to work with him because obviously, it brought out a different side of me where I was being a little bit more entertaining, just being funny, just goofing off. And we both were just loving it and having a great time," Breakker said. (H/T: The Ringer)
Wrestling veteran says Bron Breakker's WWE MITB match will set up a SummerSlam bout
Hall of Famer journalist Bill Apter has shared his prediction for the upcoming Sami Zayn vs. Breakker match for the IC title.
On Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Time Machine hosted by Mac Davis, Apter mentioned that if the former Wolf Dogs member failed to defeat the 39-year-old star, fans might witness a rematch at WWE SummerSlam 2024:
"I have got a different result. One of the bad things about Bron Breakker is his aggressiveness and his temper. And I think during this match when he fails to pin Sami Zayn a bunch of times, he's gonna go crazy with spears and wind up getting himself disqualified, and we will see a rematch maybe at SummerSlam," said Apter.
