'Big' Bronson Reed was seemingly able to morph into a main event talent in the fall of 2024. It all started when he attacked one of WWE's top guys, Seth Rollins. The two have one win each over the other as of this writing. A rubber match may have been the direction the company was heading, but Reed wound up getting injured.
Heading into Survivor Series: WarGames, Bronson Reed joined The New Bloodline. During the titular bout, which headlined the show on November 30, The Auszilla jumped off the top of the cage and crashed head-first onto a table. It was later confirmed that he had sustained an ankle injury from the fall and required surgery.
In a similar incident, WWE Hall of Famer Adam 'Edge' Copeland was injured at AEW Double or Nothing this year after he leaped from the top of a cage. The move was criticized on account of the veteran's age. Speaking on Keepin' It 100, Konnan dismissed a fan who compared Bronson Reed's jump off the cage to WWE Hall of Famer Adam Copeland's similar stunt:
"There's a huge difference between Edge, Bronson, and Jimmy. They're not 40 years old and their bodies are all f**ked up," Konnan said. "Okay, so [Edge] is 50 years old. 51, yeah." [From 0:29 to 0:48]

Adam Copeland has taken time off since the incident and is due for a return to AEW TV. Bronson Reed, on the other hand, will be out for the foreseeable future, possibly missing WrestleMania 41.
Beth Phoenix comments on AEW star's horrific injury; Bronson Reed confirms he will miss major WWE show
In an interview with Chris Van Vliet a few months after the incident, Beth Phoenix opened up about Adam Copeland's injury. She admitted that it was a "tough thing to see." Phoenix stated that she had "mixed emotions" about all of it, but they had to take it one day at a time.
"So like I said, it was a bit life-changing in that way, especially having an injury this late in the game in his career. What does that recovery look like? It’s entirely different. We’re finding this out, all brand new one step at a time," Beth Phoenix said.
Meanwhile, Bronson Reed has confirmed that he will not be part of WWE RAW's Netflix premiere episode on January 6, 2025. However, he assured fans that he would be back on the hunt when he returns.
