Bronson Reed has been at the center of some viral WWE moments lately thanks to his devastating Tsunami finisher. Vince Russo, WWE's head writer in the late 1990s, has doubts about the move's believability.

On the August 5 episode of RAW, Reed made a huge statement by landing six top-rope Tsunami splashes on Seth Rollins. The 330-pounder also hit five Tsunamis on R-Truth after defeating The Miz on August 12.

Russo spoke to host Dr. Chris Featherstone and NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion EC3 on Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Outlaws. Before discussing Reed, he questioned how casual fans would have reacted to Sami Zayn's Intercontinental Championship win over Gunther at WrestleMania XL:

"There is nobody looking at this show anymore saying, 'What would the response of the casual fan be?'" Russo said. "In other words, if a casual fan is watching Sami Zayn beat Gunther, you know what they're saying, bro? 'Ah, this is bulls**t. That guy would have never beat him in a million years.'" [7:40 – 7:59]

Several WWE officials tried to prevent Bronson Reed from inflicting further damage once he began attacking Rollins and R-Truth with a barrage of Tsunamis. However, they failed to move both men out of the ring in time to stop the Aussie powerhouse from landing his finisher again and again.

Although Reed's offense drew loud reactions from fans, Russo believes the storytelling needs a lot of work:

"Chris, if they're watching Monday's show, Bronson Reed is so over now with everybody, a casual fan is saying, 'Why don't they just roll them out the ring?' Bro, I used to look at everything like a normal person is watching this show. Bro, they don't look at it that way anymore. At all! At all, bro! Because if they did, they would see that a lot of this stuff does not make sense to a casual fan." [8:00 – 8:32]

EC3 on how WWE can improve

Between 2009 and 2013, EC3 was part of WWE's Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW) and NXT developmental systems. He also had another spell with the company between 2018 and 2020, which included a short main roster run on RAW.

Echoing Vince Russo's thoughts, EC3 added that fans would likely appreciate more logical storytelling from the creative team:

"If they did look at it like a normal person watching a show, I think the product would vastly improve, and maybe there would be some online backlash, but I don't think it would alienate part of the fans one bit because if you slow down the storytelling and you make things make sense, give it some time, and they'll be very receptive and I think appreciative." [8:35 – 8:58]

EC3 won the 24/7 Championship four times during his WWE career. After leaving in 2020, he set up the Control Your Narrative (CYN) promotion and wrestled for companies including the NWA and Ring of Honor.
