WWE Superstar Carmelo Hayes has been raking in a lot of praise for his performances in the arena and backstage. He got drafted to SmackDown in April 2024 and instantly made a major impact by competing against stars like Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton. Interestingly, this has propelled him to rank #1 on a recently released major pro wrestling list.

The Black Rasslin Podcast talks all about the pro wrestling business. The official X account of the podcast posted its latest rankings of BRP 50 wrestlers and featured Carmelo Hayes as the number one-ranked superstar.

Interestingly, the former NXT Champion reacted to the tweet and expressed his thoughts.

“Crazy. I don’t get too caught up in lists but this really isn’t about me, it’s more about US. We can’t be denied and one way or another cream rises to the MF top. Shoutout @blackrasslin and everybody on the list, mad love,✊🏾” he wrote.

It seems that Hayes’ strategy of targeting veterans has hit its mark with pro wrestling fans. Notably, while Carmelo is reaching new heights in his career, so is his real-life partner. He recently congratulated her on achieving a first in WWE.

Carmelo Hayes praised an inaugural NXT champion

The June 9, 2024, episode of NXT Battleground saw Kelani Jordan become the inaugural NXT Women’s North American Champion. She won the title by competing in a grueling ladder match against Sol Ruca, Michin, Lash Legend, Fallon Henley, and Jaida Parker.

Carmelo Hayes didn’t miss the chance to congratulate his partner for her spectacular win via a tweet on X.

"CHILLS! So proud of this girl. Legit hardest worker I know. She gonna set the bar high with that title!! #AChamp #FirstEver #NXTBattleground,” he wrote.

Notably, Hayes is also a former NXT North American Champion. He now aims to heighten his career and take a shot at the WWE Undisputed Championship via the Money in the Bank contract.

It would be interesting to see if he can realize this goal and win the contract to take away Cody Rhodes’ hard-earned title.
