One of the announced matches ahead of RAW is Chad Gable, albeit his opponent remains a mystery. Usually, the bigger concern is to stay consistent after a successful event, which means the red brand's second episode on Netflix tonight is under immense pressure after last week's blockbuster premiere.
Although former AEW star Pentagón Jr. is believed to be Gable's opponent by many fans, there is no word whether that is set in stone. Meanwhile, former Universal Champion Finn Bálor, who is facing Damian Priest in a Street Fight tonight, took a dig at his former stablemate.
Taking to X (fka Twitter) Chad Gable claimed that whoever would step up to face him tonight was a clown. The Prince reacted to this post, wondering whether the 38-year-old was also facing Priest:
"Most likely candidate…" Gable wrote, putting a clown face over the mystery opponent.
Check out his tweet below:
"… wait, you are wrestling Damian too?" Finn Bálor reacted to Chad Gable's post.
Bálor and Priest's intense rivalry commenced last summer when the former cost the 42-year-old his World Heavyweight Championship to Gunther at SummerSlam. At Bad Blood, The Punishment scored an emphatic victory over The Prince and destroyed The Judgment Day in the process.
Former WWE writer Freddie Prinze Jr. feels that this program has overstayed its welcome, pointing to the disinterest in fans. Perhaps it all ends tonight.
Jim Cornette questioned Chad Gable's booking in WWE
Wrestling veteran Jim Cornette wondered why Chad Gable is not used properly in WWE. Despite a stellar run in the first half of 2024, the 38-year-old's heat as a dastardly heel fizzled out after his program with The Wyatt Sicks. He may have formed a new faction when it happened, dubbed American Made, but WWE has not done much with them ever since.
Cornette speculated that the company does not care for Gable because they are doing fine business-wise:
"They tried for a minute to make him serious but he's back into goof category. But [WWE are] so hot right now they don't need to do anything else," Jim Cornette said.
Although Jim Cornette made a noteworthy point, Gable has been featured on WWE TV in prominent positions lately. He worked a match with Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes recently on SmackDown and has a mystery opponent on tonight's show, which has created significant buzz owing to the potential World Wrestling Entertainment debut of Pentagón Jr.
