Chelsea Green seemingly gains personal backing for promo work in WWE

WWE Superstar Chelsea Green is among the most entertaining characters on the roster. A popular star appears to have backed The Hot Mess' impressive mic work in a recent social media update.

The 33-year-old's over-the-top backstage interviews and her antics, both inside and outside the squared circle, have resonated with the fans, making her a crowd favorite despite being a heel. Ahead of her high-stakes match in the WWE Women's United States Championship Tournament, Chelsea Green has seemingly gained support for her mic work from her husband, Matt Cardona.

Earlier today, USA Network's official X/Twitter handle shared an update asking which superstar is the greatest on the mic. The graphic featured CM Punk, LA Knight, R-Truth, and Chelsea Green. Former WWE Superstar Matt Cardona, who is quite vocal on the social media platform, posted a subtle response to seemingly praise his wife's mic skills.

"Hmmm…," he wrote.

Chelsea Green is waiting for Matt Cardona's eventual WWE return

Matt Cardona was released from his WWE contract in 2020. After parting ways with the global juggernaut, the former Zack Ryder began his impressive run on the independent scene while also making appearances across different promotions.

During her appearance on the Insight with Chris Van Vliet podcast earlier this year, Chelsea Green stated she was waiting for her husband's return to the Stamford-based company. She expressed her desire to team up with Cardona for a Mixed Tag Team match inside a WWE ring. Green added she felt like the return would eventually take place.

"I am patiently waiting. Because not that I want to be partnered up with him [Matt Cardona] in WWE. That would be great. I think we could have an amazing mixed match, tag team division, whatever it is. But I don’t know. I don’t know why, I would love to know why. I would love to be a fly on the wall of kind of like the meetings of the top guys in WWE. But I do feel like in my heart of hearts, it’s only a matter of time. It feels crazy that he wouldn’t be," she said
