Chelsea Green made history in WWE by becoming the inaugural Women's United States Champion last year. Recently, the champion expressed interest in bringing back the Divas Championship.
In 2016, WWE decided to focus on the women's division following the women's revolution. The foundation for change was laid when the Divas Title was retired and a new Women's Championship was introduced and crowned at WrestleMania 32.
Some names, including Chelsea Green, want to see the Divas Title return. In an interview with The Wrestling Classic, the current Women's United States Champion said she still wanted the defunct championship to be reintroduced.
"[Do you still want to bring back the Divas Title?] Yep, 100%," Green said. (From 51:46 to 51:55)

Chelsea Green explains why the WWE Divas Championship should return
WWE introduced the Divas Title in 2008 and initially received criticism for its questionable booking and poor representation. Over time, the women's division underwent significant changes, but the title was still viewed negatively by some.
Regardless of the criticism, many up-and-coming stars aimed to win the Divas Title. In an interview with Ring The Belle, Chelsea Green agreed that the title was controversial in the past, but she still wanted it to return in the new era. She explained that the gold would bring more eyeballs to the division and the promotion due to its contentious history.
"First of all, because that's a thing. It's a controversial take, and everybody's talking. I think that's why people don't understand that when you tweet about me, you're doing me a favor. You're making me go viral," Green said. (From 01:05 to 01:20)
