WWE Superstar CM Punk recently talked about his wife, AJ Lee's potential return to the Stamford-based promotion. She was last seen in the company nine years ago.
Lee was one of the biggest names in pro wrestling. The 37-year-old became a fan favorite because of her unique on-screen persona in World Wrestling Entertainment. She won the Divas Championship three times before retiring from in-ring competition after WrestleMania 31 in 2015.
Since CM Punk has returned to WWE, many fans believe his wife, AJ Lee, might come back from retirement soon. There were a lot of rumors of Lee's return at the Money in the Bank Premium Live Event. However, that did not happen.
During the MITB post-show press conference, Punk was asked about a potential return of the former Divas Champion. The Second City Saint said that it was a brave new world, mentioning that many people did not think he would show up in WWE either.

"You would have to ask my wife, but she's not here. She's taking care of Larry. Umm, I don't wanna fall in the trap of saying, 'Never say never.' I don't wanna give people false hope. I also will not put words in her mouth and say, 'I think this could happen.' I think this is a brave new world and I don't think a lot of people thought I was gonna show up, you know."
The Best in the World added that AJ Lee was very busy with her projects outside of the pro wrestling world but mentioned that he would want to see her return to WWE.
"It's really all on her. She's busy, I'm super proud of her, she's doing her own thing. She's got a, I don't even know if I'm allowed to talk about this stuff, she's got a production company started up, she's writing TV, movies, all kinds of stuff, and I laughably always say I'm a bad husband because I never know what project she's talking about... I will say as a fan of hers, would love to see it [ AJ Lee's return]." [47:10 - 48:13]
