WWE Superstar CM Punk made a special appearance on this week’s NXT. The Best in the World talked about the developmental brand’s move to the CW Network, with the first show being held in his hometown of Chicago. Interestingly, while he is currently entangled in a red-hot feud with Drew McIntyre, he teased a future match with a reigning WWE champion.
CM Punk greeted all the NXT fans and said he loved the gold and white brand. He also talked about facing some men from the developmental brand in the ring. While he started his list with Lexis King, surprisingly, he took the name of Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker toward the end.
Notably, Breakker has already been promoted to the main roster and wrestles on the same brand as Punk, Monday Night RAW. Thus, via a roundabout way, The Second City Saint teased a future faceoff against the reigning Intercontinental Champion.
"And not to start any rumors, I know sooner or later I'm gonna be standing across the ring from Bron Breakker," he said.
CM Punk has already started to look past his feud with The Scottish Psychopath and had previously set his sights on Gunther. Now, he seems to be after the IC Title of Bron. Thus, while Punk has said that his Hell of a Cell encounter with McIntyre could be his last, he might fight Breakker if he wins.
It would be interesting to see if the two dominant superstars trade blows in the future.
