CM Punk issues a statement after his appearance on WWE SmackDown

CM Punk has taken to social media to issue a statement after making an off-air appearance on the latest episode of WWE SmackDown.

The Second City Saint is currently out of action due to an injury, but he's eligible to be drafted this Monday night on RAW. He is currently involved in a feud with Drew McIntyre, who injured him during the Men's Royal Rumble match. The Voice of the Voiceless got his revenge by costing The Scottish Warrior the World Heavyweight Championship twice.

After this week's episode of SmackDown went off the air, CM Punk showed up in the arena and addressed the crowd.

He provided an update on his recovery by stating that his tricep isn't 100% yet, but promised that he'd be back in action soon. He then sent out a photo on Instagram which he took during Cody Rhodes' match against Carmelo Hayes. He was seemingly in the crowd during the bout, and he wrote that he likes to feel the energy of the crowd.

Sami Zayn says he and CM Punk have a clean slate

The current Intercontinental Champion spoke about his relationship with The Second City Saint. They used to have issues in the past, but they've let bygones be bygones.

Sami Zayn told Gorilla Position that he and CM Punk have buried the hatchet and there's a clean slate between them.

"I've known him for a very long time. There's been some ups, there's been some downs. He showed up and I was like, 'I just don't want this to be weird. Say whatever you need to say.' He said his peace, I said my peace. Clean slate. That's it. (...) I don't want him to see me and [groans]. Whatever happened, cards on the table, clean slate. Good? Good. Okay. That's just it," Sami Zayn said.

Sami Zayn is currently involved in a storyline with Bronson Reed and Chad Gable, as both stars want his Intercontinental Championship.
