WWE Superstar CM Punk recently spoke about his rehab status. He has been out of in-ring action since January 2024, when he tore his tricep at the Men's Royal Rumble Match.
The Best in the World got physical this week. When Drew McIntyre tried to cash in his Money in the Bank contract, Punk took it upon himself to ruin his chances. He viciously attacked Drew with a steel chair. He then continued the beatdown, hitting McIntyre in the face with the World Heavyweight Championship, effectively destroying his chances of winning the gold.
During the post-show press conference, CM Punk spoke about his physical condition. He stated that rehab was going well and he was feeling much better. He spoke about how WWE officials were fine with him taking the time he needed to recover and come back after that.
"I like to keep people in suspense. You know, I will say that I feel great and I'm ready to go. There are things in place to protect me against myself that I maybe wish were in place ten years ago. But, we don't need to talk about the past. Great personnel, great facilities, and I'm busting my a*s to get back, if I could steal what John (Cena) was talking about, for the fans. Whether you think he's more or less polarising than me, whether you hate me or love me, I'm coming back to enjoy all these moments that were robbed from me when I got injured. Sh*t happens, it's a contact sport, it stinks but I've been working very, very hard to rush the rehab and come back. Everybody behind me has supported it but they've also been like, 'We're not in a hurry,' and I love that," CM Punk said.

Despite his explanation, CM Punk did not explicitly mention that he was cleared by a medical team to compete in the ring. However, given his physical involvement in the last few weeks, the Second City Saint may not be far from getting medically cleared.
It will be interesting to see if CM Punk can get clearance on time to have a major match at SummerSlam this year.
