CM Punk is currently preparing for possibly the most physically challenging match of his career. As his clash with Drew McIntyre approaches, Punk has received considerable praise from someone who has been critical of him in the past, Freddie Prinze Jr.
Over the past few months, the former WWE Champion has been battling Drew McIntyre in a profoundly personal rivalry. The rivals have one victory over each other and will have their rubber match at Bad Blood inside Hell in a Cell.
WWE has gone the old-school way of building Punk and McIntyre's final match for now and has had both men cut promos on recent RAW episodes. As far as Punk is concerned, Freddie Prinze Jr. was impressed by the former WWE Champion's promos and even claimed only one other star in wrestling was on his level.
Freddie Prinze Jr. hasn't been the biggest fan of Punk over the years, as he had difficulties working with wrestlers when he was on WWE's creative team.

Prinze's opinions about Punk, however, have changed and he gave the WWE star props on the latest episode of his podcast:
"CM Punk has done it forever. Forever! And I know everyone gushes about CM Punk, but I've been critical of CM Punk at times, yeah! I want to acknowledge when he is great." [From 18:45 onwards]
Freddie Prinze Jr. breaks down CM Punk's "subtle yet dangerous" WWE promo
CM Punk might have won the strap match at Bash in Berlin, but his problems with Drew McIntyre remain unresolved.
The two stars will seemingly settle their differences for good inside Hell in a Cell, and Punk is surprisingly willing to put everything on the line to punish Drew McIntyre.
Freddie Prinze Jr. reviewed Punk's most recent RAW promo and loved how the veteran star showcased his wisdom while delivering a bone-chilling promo about his intentions.
"This is such a subtle, not humble at all, but dangerous promo; he let himself sound and look old, but there was wisdom in that age. There was experience, in that age, and there was vulnerability, in that age, and he just told the truth. And the truth was, yeah, a lot of people told me not to do this, but I don't give a f***," said the former WWE personality. [From 19:00 onwards]
Punk and Drew McIntyre's Hell in a Cell showdown is expected to end a feud that has dominated Monday Night RAW programming in recent times.
