CM Punk shared good news on the latest episode of WWE RAW ahead of SummerSlam. He is cleared to compete and will face Drew McIntyre at The Biggest Party of The Summer on August 3.
The crowd in Green Bay, Wisconsin ate up everything The Straight Edge Superstar had to say. It was not very long ago that fans clamored for his comeback to World Wrestling Entertainment. Punk is practically bulletproof at this point.
Taking to Instagram, CM Punk praised the live crowd at last night's RAW at Resch Center. He expressed his gratitude for an incredible night and the powerful reception he received on the day he announced his return to the ring:
"Green Bay was FANTASTIC last night. Great crowd, great energy. Thank you!!!!" CM Punk wrote on his Instagram story.

Seth Rollins is tasked with refereeing the first-ever showdown at SummerSlam. RAW General Manager Adam Pearce made the addition after The Scottish Warrior's recent actions against match officials. The Visionary has had issues with both men in the past year. While it was McIntyre who ended his inaugural run as World Heavyweight Champion, it is Punk whom Rollins truly despises.
How Drew McIntyre bulldozed into the Seth Rollins vs CM Punk rivalry on WWE RAW
In 2012, The Shield was revealed as mercenaries for CM Punk. They debuted at Survivor Series that year. A year later, Punk organically turned into a babyface and began feuding with the trio.
The real issues between Seth Rollins and CM Punk began after the latter left WWE in January 2014. Perhaps The Visionary was not expecting Punk to ever sign with the Stamford-based promotion again. He had become an established name in 2023.
Last year, Rollins called Punk "cancer" and stated that the Chicago native should stay away from the company he works for. Since November 2023, the two men have taken their issues to the screen, teasing a salivating showdown.
Though WWE's original plan was for The Straight Edge Superstar to challenge World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins in the main event of WrestleMania Saturday, Punk got injured at Royal Rumble while wrestling Drew McIntyre during the titular bout. The Scottish Warrior wound up becoming the new number-one contender to Rollins on The Show of Shows.
Punk sabotaged McIntyre's dreams after he won the World Heavyweight Championship from Seth Rollins at WrestleMania. The former AEW star attacked the Scotsman leading to Damian Priest cashing in his Money in the Bank contract and capturing the title.
It has now come down to a bitter rivalry between the former WWE Champions. But Seth Rollins got caught in the crossfire at Money in the Bank when Punk interfered and inadvertently helped Priest retain the World Heavyweight Championship against Rollins and McIntyre, who cashed in his MITB contract after winning it earlier during the premium live event.
