AJ Lee potentially returning to WWE is a speculation that refuses to go away. While she is not expected to be back in her old stomping ground anytime soon, CM Punk's wife has been announced for a major appearance during Bad Blood weekend.
The Geek Goddess parted ways with WWE in 2015 and immediately called it quits on her wrestling career. Her departure came a year after her husband, Phil Brooks, infamously walked out of the Stamford-based promotion.
Last year, The Straight Edge Superstar buried the hatchet with WWE and returned during the closing moments of Survivor Series: WarGames. As for Lee, she has largely stayed away from the wrestling scene aside from her one-off role as executive producer for Women of Wrestling a few years ago.

CM Punk is scheduled to wrestle Drew McIntyre on October 5. The Scotsman has referenced AJ Lee and dog, Larry, several times during their feud. Earlier this week, McIntyre asserted that Lee would leave Punk after he beats him at Bad Blood.

In an interview with Ringside Collectibles, CM Punk said if the opportunity came knocking on AJ Lee's door, she'd be open to coming back to WWE for one more run.
The Second City Saint, in an amusing bit, said he would love to see his wife back for the sake of getting the chance to make out with her on TV again.
"I certainly am not pushing her to do anything. I think she knows that there's options. I think she sees how happy I am and how things are different. But if the right situation presented itself, it would have to be a discussion between her and certain people, and I don’t necessarily want to be in the middle of that just because it could get kind of weird. Selfishly, yes, I would love to make out with my wife on television again," Punk said.
Besides CM Punk, the current NXT Women's Champion Roxanne Perez is also pushing for AJ Lee's WWE return. It will be interesting to see whether The Black Widow will come out of retirement.
