CM Punk saved by major name after unexpected confrontation with The Bloodline on SmackDown

CM Punk's segment on SmackDown had a lot happening in it, with the promo taking a big chunk of time on this week's episode. In an unexpected confrontation with The Bloodline, Punk had to be saved.

Punk took shots at Drew McIntyre due to the latter quitting WWE following Clash at the Castle. That, of course, wouldn't age well as the comments came back to bite him less than an hour later.

Paul Heyman came out to have a wholesome reunion with Punk after 11 years, but he also warned Punk to get out of the arena due to the Bloodline, telling him "Take me with you". The Bloodline ultimately came out, and Punk needed to be saved by Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes.

Punk and Cody would have baseball bats in the ring, with The Bloodline then walking away as a result. It was certainly an unexpected confrontation, but one that ended favorably for Punk.

It seems that CM Punk has made even more enemies in WWE. The Straight Edge Superstar's medical clearance is pending and could be announced in the coming weeks, or perhaps by next month. He is expected to compete at SummerSlam this year.
