CM Punk is undoubtedly one of the most polarizing figures in sports entertainment today, not just in WWE but apparently in the music industry as well. A Chicago-based annual music festival called the "Riot Fest" hasn't lifted the ban on The Second City Saint.
About nine years ago, The Best in the World sneaked into the music festival to catch up with his close friend and Rancid singer, Lars Frederiksen. Since then, CM Punk has been banned from the three-day music festival at Douglass Park in Chicago, Illinois.
Earlier today, The Straight Edge Superstar took to his Instagram stories to send a one-word explicit message to Riot Fest.
"F*** @riotfest," wrote CM Punk.
Behind the scenes, the apparent ban is probably part of a long-running joke between Punk and Riot Fest. The 45-year-old RAW Superstar has often been spotted hanging out with Living Colour at the music festival over the years. Living Colour is the band that produced the iconic 'Cult of Personality' song which Punk uses as his entrance theme.
Whether or not he managed to sneak past the security this weekend is still unknown.
What's next for CM Punk?
The Straight Edge Superstar is gearing up for the biggest match of his current WWE run as he faces Drew McIntyre inside the Hell in a Cell at Bad Blood on October 5.
The two men are currently tied at One-One. The Scotsman defeated The Best in the World in a singles match with Seth "Freakin" Rollins serving as the Special Guest Referee at SummerSlam this year.
However, McIntyre lost to Punk weeks later in a Straps Match at Bash in Berlin Premium Live Event. For months, CM Punk's bracelet, which had AJ Lee and his dog Larry's name on it, was the front and center of his storyline with Drew McIntyre.
That is no longer the case as the two men head towards their trilogy. McIntyre made things personal a few weeks ago when he broke the bracelet and shoved the beads in Punk's mouth, causing the latter to cough up blood.
Despite being advised by his family members not to wrestle inside Hell in a Cell, Punk has promised to make McIntyre bleed come October 5.
