ECW Original and former WWE star Tommy Dreamer recently discussed the segment involving CM Punk and Seth Rollins. The two stars confronted each other in an intense verbal battle this week.
Rollins came out to hype up his match against Punk and was soon interrupted by the Second City Saint. Punk did not take kindly to Seth's verbal jabs and called him out for playing the victim in a situation he created for himself. The animosity between the two was on full display as they slashed each other with disrespectful remarks.
On the latest episode of the Busted Open podcast, Dreamer noted that CM Punk lit up the arena with his promo. The veteran wrestler felt the two guys possibly did not like each other in real life and it was visible during their exchange. He lauded the Best in the World for his recent work, suggesting Punk was an important aspect of WWE's Netflix deal.
"CM Punk was spitting fire tonight. I loved it. I love both guys' work. I love both guys I can't even say blurring the lines. If you ask me, I'd say these two guys don't like each other. Guess what? Punk said it. Like, 'Hey I did not say I was coming back here to make friends, I came back here to make money.' If you think about what CM Punk has done, RAW going to Netflix has garnered the largest television deal in the history of the company. So there you go." [From 3:54 - 4:35]
A top AEW star just called one of his colleagues 'spoiled' and 'narcissistic' HERE.
Triple H is also excited for CM Punk vs. Seth Rollins
As Seth Rollins pointed out this week, the match between him and Punk is 10 years in the making. It will pit perhaps two of the most iconic, polarizing superstars against one another.
After the show, WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H also took to X/Twitter to share his excitement for the encounter. The Game suggested he couldn't wait for next week when the two former World Champions take their differences to the ring.
It will be interesting to see who comes out on top when these two vicious competitors collide on the Netflix premiere of RAW on January 6.
