CM Punk was a controversial figure during his first WWE run, but in his second tenure, fans have witnessed a different side of the former World Champion. Among many others, the two-time and current NXT Champion and former North American Champion Trick Williams shared his thoughts on The Second City Saint.
The Best in The World and Roman Reigns' OG Bloodline defeated Solo Sikoa's New Bloodline and "Big" Bronson Reed in the Men's WarGames Match at Survivor Series. Fresh off the victory at the premium live event in Vancouver, Canada, Punk got involved in a brawl with Seth Rollins on this week's Monday Night RAW.
Meanwhile, the Chicago native has been making regular appearances on WWE NXT. Trick Williams recently highlighted The Voice of The Voiceless' impact on the black-and-gold brand during an interview on the No-Contest Wrestling podcast.
The Anointed One praised CM Punk's genuine nature and his dedication to mentoring younger talent:
Meet John Cena's dad HERE
"I didn't know what to expect when I [first] met him. But all I'm saying is that dude, [CM] Punk [is a] good dude, like solid. You can tell when some people are just genuine and he's very genuine. He takes pride in helping us, the next generation to become the superstars we need to be. He gives us real advice too, he talks about how to handle yourself, in the ring, outside the ring; everything it takes to become a [WWE] Superstar," Williams said. [From 18:24 to 18:54]

Trick Williams comments on his relationship with WWE Hall of Famer
Booker T has been showing his support for Trick Williams by adding impressive ad-libs to the 30-year-old star's entrances. Recently, the reigning NXT Champion opened up about his dynamic with the two-time WWE Hall of Famer.
During the same interaction on the No-Contest Wrestling podcast, The Anointed One described Booker T as a mentor who offers honest feedback and guidance, akin to a supportive uncle rather than a traditional coach:
"He [Booker T] talks to me like, he's my uncle; not like a coach per see. [sic] More like, 'Hey, I'm going to give you as real, this is what I dealt with when I was in the business. This is what I had to do to stand out. Hey, that little extra move you did right there, get rid of that, that's going to hold you back; that's stupid.' He keeps it real with me and I appreciate that because he has been really speaking to me like family. That's just the dynamic we have," he said.
Only time will tell if Trick Williams can succeed in retaining his WWE NXT Title against Ridge Holland this Saturday at the Deadline premium live event.
