CM Punk unwittingly helps 30-year-old WWE star win major title; Brawls with former champion immediately after

WWE RAW Superstar CM Punk was the special guest referee for the NXT Championship match between Trick Williams and Ethan Page on the latest episode of NXT. He attacked the former AEW star after the bout.

The two stars didn't get along since the bout began. All Ego tried to cheat, but The Second City Saint refused to give him an easy win. Page sent Williams through the barricade and hit him with several kicks in the ring. He then spiked the latter with a DDT for a two-count. Trick nailed the champion with a jumping neckbreaker and the two stars traded shots.

Trick Williams wiped out Ethan Page with a flapjack and sent him to the floor with a big boot. Page sent Trick through the announce table with an Ego's Edge. Trick then planted All Ego with an STO for a near-fall. He tried to hit the Trickshot but missed. Ethan Page hit his opponent with the GTS in front of CM Punk but only got a two-count. He tried to go for the Ego's Edge again but Trick fell on Punk.

The Voice of the Voiceless nearly provided an assist, whether he wanted to help Trick or not. Finally, Trick Williams nailed Ethan Page with the Trickshot. He went for the cover and CM Punk counted to three. A new NXT Champion has been crowned.
