The Drew McIntyre—CM Punk saga has clearly become one of the hottest feuds in recent history. From being extremely personal to extremely brutal, the rivalry has hit a home run in every sense, leaving very few to critique its storyline.
CM Punk picked up a massive win against Drew McIntyre in a Strap Match at WWE Bash in Berlin. This marked his first victory in WWE in over a decade. However, the story between the two men isn't finished yet.
In a recent episode of NotSam Wrestling, Sam Roberts explained how Punk's victory against McIntyre at the PLE had a major problem. The analyst stated that touching four corners of the ring doesn't give a decisive win and that Punk never pinned McIntyre to three.
"Now, how did he [CM Punk] win this match? He won by touching all four corner posts. While Some see it as a decisive victory, I would say, but one could argue that if he had to hit a GTS for every single corner post he touched, which he did. A GTS did not have Drew McIntyre on the mat for three seconds at any point in time. Either way, the fact that CM Punk won a single match and he did it by touching four corner posts, not by pinning or submitting Drew McIntyre," said Sam Roberts. [3:12 onwards]
WWE Analyst thinks Drew McIntyre vs CM Punk should be a Loser Leaves match
While Drew McIntyre has officially declared that his business with CM Punk is unfinished, the next match between both men will have all the stoplights. After a special guest referee match and a strap match, the stipulation for the third battle is still in question.
Several pitches for a Hell in a Cell match are already in place. However, Sam Roberts thinks a loser-leave match would be more intriguing. With both men having massive issues with each other, keeping them on the same roster is not a brilliant idea.
"Whatever you do with this match, I say the stipulation, not the rules, but The stipulation is Loser Leaves RAW. That's the way to do this for me. There's no way, regardless of who wins, that one person would go, 'You know what? You won two out of three. So you're the better man.' That would never happen. I think Adam Pearce needs to make something declarative that says. 'I realize these two can't be on the same roster. So we're going to do Drew McIntyre and CM Punk in one more match. Only this time, loser leaves RAW,'" said Sam Roberts. (10:50 - 11:32)
While WWE's plans for Punk-McIntyre III remain a surprise, Bad Blood seems to be the perfect event to host the battle. Time will tell what happens next in the heated feud on RAW.
