Cody Rhodes will defend his title at Saturday Night's Main Event
Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens stood side-by-side as they battled the Bloodline for several months. Owens was even in the ring when the American Nightmare dethroned Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40.
Despite their animosity, Cody agreed to team with Reigns at WWE Bad Blood, which didn't sit well with Owens, whose career was nearly ended by the Bloodline on several occasions. Hence, after Bad Blood concluded, he ambushed the American Nightmare in the parking lot. In the following weeks, Owens also attacked Randy Orton as he felt betrayed by The Viper. He even delivered a devastating piledriver to him, thereby taking him out of action.
This prompted Cody to call out Owens for his actions. As this rivalry grew more intense, it became clear that the only thing that would end it was a match between these two men. Hence, Rhodes will defend his Undisputed WWE Championship against Owens at Saturday Night's Main Event on December 14.
Kevin Owens is now more dangerous than he has ever been, and Cody will have to be careful during his match against his former friend.
