WWE analyst Sam Roberts recently discussed potential plans for Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 41. He claimed Rhodes could square off with a massive legend for a new championship.
The American Nightmare is currently feuding with Kevin Owens. The two are set to clash in a Ladder Match for the Undisputed WWE Championship at Royal Rumble. Meanwhile, many expect The Rock to return to target Rhodes. The Final Boss had a heated rivalry with the 39-year-old SmackDown star heading into WrestleMania 40. He promised he'd go after the second-generation superstar upon his return from hiatus.
On his Notsam Wrestling podcast, Roberts suggested Rhodes could lose his championship to Owens at Royal Rumble. He could then challenge and beat The Rock for the People's Championship at WrestleMania 41:

While Roman Reigns, The Rock, and John Cena are rumored opponents for Cody Rhodes at next year's WrestleMania, Sam Roberts refused to rule out the possibility of seeing CM Punk fight The American Nightmare at the Show of Shows.
The Undisputed WWE Champion eliminated Punk from the Men's Royal Rumble to win the match earlier this year. The two also had a heated confrontation on RAW. The 41-year-old analyst predicted the two will eventually cross paths again:
"There was just this magic and this tension between CM Punk and Cody Rhodes. And I feel like with The Bloodline stuff, with the Rollins and Punk stuff, with the Drew and Punk stuff, people have forgotten how magical that moment was between Cody Rhodes and CM Punk. And we will get back there at some point. And I think it's just as much a potential WrestleMania main event as anything else is quite frankly," he said.
With WWE having many available options, it will be interesting to see who will end up facing Rhodes at the Showcase of the Immortals.
