A WWE personality has predicted a major name could dethrone Cody Rhodes as the Undisputed WWE Champion after turning heel. Sam Roberts thinks Randy Orton embracing his dark side and then defeating Rhodes is a possibility.
The Viper has been a babyface over the last few years, with fans in every arena cheering for him at the top of their lungs. However, Randy Orton was once one of the most hated heels in WWE during his feuds with John Cena, Jeff Hardy, and others. Although viewers are enjoying Orton's babyface avatar, many are clamoring to see him turn heel and challenge Cody Rhodes.
On his NotSam Wrestling podcast, Sam Roberts mentioned how a match pitting Rhodes against Orton should come to fruition soon. The RAW Talk host also said a feud between them would only make sense if the 44-year-old veteran turned heel.
"Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton is one of those matches that everyone has talked about forever. Since Cody has become a star, that's the match you want to revisit. But you can't revisit it as an exhibition match just for the sake of revisiting it. You gotta tell a story. One of them has to be a good guy. One of them has to be a bad guy. And I'm not sitting here watching a babyface Randy Orton vs. a heel Cody Rhodes. Let's get bald Randy out here. Worst of the worst. And let's see what happens," said Sam Roberts.

Roberts also explained that Orton potentially defeating Rhodes would pave the way for WWE to book John Cena against his legendary rival.
"It's been a long enough time that we could probably make it feel like Randy Orton might actually win the championship. Especially as we get closer and closer to 2025 and we realize maybe Randy's going to beat Cody for the championship and then have John Cena vs. Randy so that John Cena could break the record," added Sam Roberts. Matt Camp also wants Cody Rhodes to face Randy Orton
A few days back on his Wrestling Matt podcast, the former WWE host spoke about how Orton could be the ideal name to dethrone The American Nightmare. Matt Camp believed a fan favorite Randy Orton wasn't the right choice to defeat Gunther, but WWE could have him put an end to Rhodes' reign if he turned heel.
"I would not mind at all if a maniacal, downright dirty Randy Orton could take the championship away from Cody Rhodes. I'd be good with that. I'd believe that. I didn't think Randy was going to beat Gunther, but I believe that a heel Randy Orton is exactly the kind of foil Cody needs between now and WrestleMania."
Cody Rhodes is currently occupied with The Bloodline, and as such, it remains to be seen when WWE pulls the trigger on his dream match with The Viper.
