WWE Superstar Cody Rhodes was scheduled to have a face-off with Kevin Owens on this week’s episode of SmackDown. However, The Prizefighter walked out on The American Nightmare while he wasn’t done talking. Following this, the Undisputed WWE Champion got into a backstage brawl with Carmelo Hayes.
Cody Rhodes was surprised to hear Kevin Owens say that he injured Randy Orton’s neck with a piledriver because of Rhodes teaming up with Roman Reigns. When The American Nightmare returned from his confrontation with KO, Melo taunted Rhodes backstage and said he couldn’t digest the truth.
An angry Undisputed Champion asked Hayes to step forward and say what he wanted to say to his face. This prompted the first-draft SmackDown pick to say something, following which The American Nightmare shoved the 30-year-old down and was ready to beat him up.
“About time somebody told (Rhodes) about himself… I'm just saying what everybody else is saying. They're saying that he's (Kevin Owens) telling the truth, man. But nobody's telling the truth louder than Randy Orton's neck. That's all I'm going to say,” said Melo.
Cody Rhodes and Carmelo Hayes almost came to blows before Nick Aldis intervened. While Melo continued to allege that the men’s Crown Jewel Champion couldn’t handle the truth, Rhodes asked Aldis to keep his ‘first draft pick’ in check. It would be interesting to see what lies ahead for the Undisputed Champ and The Prizefighter.
