Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes recently made a bold claim about a reigning UFC Champion. The MMA fighter is set to join the Stamford-based promotion after hanging up his boots from the sport.
In an interview with SunSport, the interim UFC Heavyweight Champion, Tom Aspinall, confirmed that when he retired from mixed martial arts, he would switch over to WWE. The Honey Badger also said that he would like to capture the prestigious World Heavyweight Championship. This revelation by Aspinall came after his recent appearance at a WWE live event in Manchester, England, on October 16, 2024. The UFC fighter shared the ring with Cody Rhodes and Gunther.
During an interview with The Schmo, The American Nightmare claimed Tom Aspinall has the physicality and wrestling style to seamlessly transition to professional wrestling. Cody Rhodes sees The Honey Badger as a dominant force who could be a natural fit for the "big man" role in the wrestling world.
"When you're as big as he [Tom Aspinall] is and as athletic as he is, he's really going to fill that big man spot for pro wrestling. So, if he was to step in at any point, it would fit like a glove," he said. [From 06:13 to 06:22]
