Despite his victory at WWE Bad Blood, Cody Rhodes' night took a shocking turn when Kevin Owens betrayed him backstage. Recently, The American Nightmare responded to a serious accusation made by the former Universal Champion.
Rhodes, alongside Roman Reigns, emerged victorious over Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu of The Bloodline in the main event of Bad Blood. Following the show, a heated argument erupted between The American Nightmare and KO in the parking lot. The confrontation escalated quickly, leading to The Prizefighter turning heel on Rhodes.
The incident, which was captured by fans, unfolded without any WWE personnel present to film it. On an edition of SmackDown, Kevin Owens accused Cody Rhodes of turning his back on the former first.
In an interview with Cathy Kelley on WWE's YouTube, The American Nightmare acknowledged the internal issues with The Prizefighter but couldn't elaborate due to ongoing discussions within the company.
"I can't go too far down the road or pull that threat with Kevin [Owens] for reasons you might know in terms of it's something that's being handled internally, which again, I totally understand the question," he said. [From 04:42 to 04:56]
Cody Rhodes further added that he respected the diverse perspectives on the situation and hoped for a mutual resolution. The 39-year-old world champion added:
"Hopefully, everyone can kinda come to a resolution on it, and I respect the fact that you're open to all sides of it." [From 05:26 to 05:36]

Cody Rhodes breaks silence on WWE legend's return at Bad Blood
The American Nightmare witnessed the earth-shattering return of The Rock before heading backstage at Bad Blood. Rhodes has now shared his thoughts on what Dwayne Johnson's return means for the company.
During the same interaction with Cathy Kelley, the Undisputed WWE Champion claimed that The Final Boss returned at the premium live event to remind everyone that he's in charge and things must be done his way.
"Maybe a reminder that The Rock is not just this amazing Hall of Fame level, multi-time world champion, the hottest man in Hollywood; he's not just that when it comes to WWE. He's actually The Boss, director of the board, and, as he's coined, The Final Boss. I think that more than anything is what he was reminding people that he can show up at any point, do whatever he'd like, and everyone has to follow where The Final Boss goes," Rhodes said.
It remains to be seen whether Kevin Owens will cost Cody Rhodes the Men's Crown Jewel Championship against Gunther in Riyadh tonight.
