Cody Rhodes and The Rock became archrivals in the lead-up to WrestleMania 40. Before the show, Rhodes cut a non-PG promo against The People's Champion, about which he felt guilty for a particular reason.
At WrestleMania 40, Rhodes became the Undisputed WWE Champion. On Night 2, he dethroned Roman Reigns despite The Bloodline's best attempts to prevent The American Nightmare from winning.
Speaking on the SI Media podcast, Rhodes explained why he felt "guilty" after his little d**k syndrome promo from Monday Night RAW.
“Fans in the arena loved it. There was a huge joy to this interview I did. However, for me, I felt a little guilty because I have a lot of young, young, young fans and I would never want them to ask their mom about ‘LDS’ or this or that," said Rhodes.
He further stated that his current WWE run has been family-friendly for the majority of it.
"My run with WWE has been really for the family audience, and really for the little nightmares, these little kiddos. I just wouldn’t want to lead them astray in any way and hopefully, that interview didn’t turn them off to me, if I am their guy, as their guy. Everyone after was so pumped about it, my wife was digging it, and I remember thinking I felt a little guilty,” added Rhodes. [H/T: PWMania]
Cody Rhodes will be in action at Backlash 2024
After winning the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania 40, Cody Rhodes is set for his first televised title defense.
At the upcoming Backlash Premium Live Event in France, Rhodes will put his newly won championship on the line against either AJ Styles or LA Knight. Since winning the Undisputed WWE Championship, Cody Rhodes has addressed the WWE Universe in his recent appearances on RAW and SmackDown. He was also confronted by The Rock on the RAW after WrestleMania 40.
