Cody Rhodes is the face of the new era in WWE under Triple H's creative leadership. However, the Undisputed WWE Champion does not plan to remain a full-time superstar past a certain age.
The American Nightmare made his wrestling debut in 2006 and has since competed in several promotions, including AEW. In 2022, after several years of absence, he returned to the Stamford-based company to become the top babyface. In April 2024, he captured the Undisputed WWE Championship, ending Roman Reigns' historical reign at WrestleMania 40.
While the 39-year-old remains a full-time in-ring competitor, he revealed in an interview with 2 Bears, 1 Cave that he would not be so past the age of 45. Meanwhile, he clarified that he would be open to being a part-timer:
"Well, [I'm] 39 now. I'd say my contract is running till, I don't want to wrestle full-time definitely past 45. Drop in? For sure. Keep myself in shape. [But still be involved in the world?] I could see that," he said. [From 1:15:26 to 1:15:42]

Cody Rhodes will fight Kevin Owens at WWE Royal Rumble
Since October, Cody Rhodes has been feuding with his former friend Kevin Owens. The Prizefighter challenged The American Nightmare at Saturday Night's Main Event. However, he failed to capture the title. After the match, Owens brutally attacked the Undisputed WWE Champion and took the Winged Eagle belt.
Last Friday, Rhodes returned to SmackDown to confront Owens. The two will now square off again in a Ladder Match for the championship at the upcoming Royal Rumble Premium Live Event. After the bout was made official, The Prizefighter sent a message to his opponent, claiming he was the true champion:
"I'm the true champ! I'm the true champ! I'm the true...[hits his forehead with the Winged Eagle Belt]...I'm the true champion! See you at the Rumble b****!" Owens said.
It would be interesting to see if The Prizefighter would be able to end Rhodes' title reign on February 1st.
