Reigning Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes might not face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 41 due to a major reason, believes wrestling analyst Peter Rosenberg. The American Nightmare and the Original Tribal Chief have been in a heated feud since 2023.
After failing to capture the title at WrestleMania 39, Rhodes finally dethroned Reigns at this year's Show of Shows. Following this, Roman went on a hiatus, but everyone expected him to return and challenge Cody for the gold.
However, the Original Tribal Chief seems to be caught up in a different storyline at the moment with Solo Sikoa, after the latter took over The Bloodline. Meanwhile, The American Nightmare has been defending his title against multiple opponents.
In a recent edition of the Cheap Heat podcast, WWE analyst Peter Rosenberg said that he does not believe Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns should lock horns at WrestleMania 41.
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
Rosenberg explained that he instead wanted to see a heel John Cena vs. Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns vs. The Rock on The Grandest Stage of Them All in Las Vegas next year.
"We don't need to have Cody [Rhodes] and Roman [Reigns] right now for their rematch. That can be a year from now, [or] two years from now. It doesn't matter. It's the big WrestleMania in TKO's homeland of Las Vegas at Allegiant Stadium, and then guess what Roman and Cody, both win [against The Rock and John Cena, respectively]," he said.
The wrestling analyst added that this could be a good way to have more storylines for The American Nightmare before his eventual encounter with Roman Reigns.
"Then afterward, you have these two monster stars lined up again to still be right where they should be, but more interesting, with more mileage, more story for Cody. I'm with it; I'm sure there's someone out there listening and gonna tell us why this is ridiculous and impossible," he added. [21:32-22:35]

Jonathan Coachman believes Roman Reigns' return is overshadowing Cody Rhodes on WWE SmackDown
The Original Tribal Chief returned to WWE TV at SummerSlam 2024. Roman Reigns laid out his former Enforcer during the latter's Bloodline Rules Match against Cody Rhodes. His interference helped Rhodes retain the title.
Meanwhile, during an edition of the Behind The Turnbuckle podcast, Jonathan Coachman claimed that Roman Reigns' return and the latter's ongoing feud with Solo Sikoa's Bloodline have overshadowed Cody Rhodes on the blue brand.
"Behind the scenes, if I were a betting man, Tommy, I would bet things are not as kosher as they should be because now with Roman [Reigns] back and Paul [Heyman] back, it's all about The Bloodline. So, to your point, which I agree with, if Randy Orton can go show-to-show, why can't Cody Rhodes go show-to-show?" he said.
Meanwhile, Reigns was again written off television following an attack from Jacob Fatu and Co. on an episode of SmackDown last month. It will be interesting to see if Cody and Roman cross paths after the latter returns to WWE TV in the coming weeks.
