On this week's edition of Friday Night SmackDown, Nick Aldis confirmed Cody Rhodes' next defense of the Undisputed WWE Championship. On social media, The American Nightmare sent his first message after another eventful edition of the blue show.
At the upcoming Bash in Berlin Premium Live Event in Germany, Rhodes will defend the Undisputed WWE Championship against Kevin Owens. During the opening segment of SmackDown, the reigning champion was confronted by Solo Sikoa, who failed to win the title at SummerSlam 2024.
Initially, Owens refused to accept Rhodes' title shot. However, after a conversation between Rhodes, Owens, and SmackDown general manager, Nick Aldis, the match was made official for August 31.
On Instagram, Rhodes sent a message after this week's edition of WWE SmackDown.

Tommy Carlucci suggested the idea of Cody Rhodes unifying both the WWE World Championships
Wrestling veteran Tommy Carlucci has suggested the idea of a title unification match between Cody Rhodes and Gunther.
On the Behind The Turnbuckle Podcast, Carlucci said Rhodes could challenge Gunther in the future for the World Heavyweight Championship. He said:
"I would love Cody to jump in Gunther's face and say, 'You know what? You're the champ, I'm the champ; let's have one champion, and let's have a match and see who gets it.' Cody can definitely carry it. There's no doubt about it. Cody can carry one title for this company."
At SummerSlam 2024, Gunther won the World Heavyweight Championship by dethroning Damian Priest. At Bash In Berlin, he will defend the gold against Randy Orton, who lost to The Ring General in the final of the King of the Ring Tournament but not without controversy. Orton would hope to avenge his loss to The Ring General.
