WWE Superstar Cody Rhodes took to social media to send a message to the newly crowned NXT Women's North American Champion, Kelani Jordan. At NXT Battleground, Jordan won a Six Way Ladder Match to become the inaugural champion.
In 2023, Jordan debuted in NXT as the protege of now-former WWE Superstar Dana Brooke. Fast forward to June 2024, and the 25-year-old has won her first major championship in professional wrestling. Jordan outlasted Lash Legend, Michin, Sol Ruca, Jaida Parker, and Fallon Henley to win the NXT Women's North American Championship.
Following her title win, Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes took to his X (Twitter) account to share a four-word message for the inaugural NXT Women's North American Champion.
"Keep being awesome, Kelani!" Cody wrote.
Jordan reacted to Rhodes' tweet with a message of her own.
"Thanks Cody! Right back at ya!" she wrote.
Bill Apter reacts to Cody Rhodes' recent hint at a potential WWE-TNA partnership
WWE has been working closely with numerous top promotions, including TNA. Reigning TNA Knockouts World Champion Jordynne Grace recently locked horns with NXT Women's Champion Roxanne Perez at the Battleground Premium Live Event.
During the latest episode of the developmental brand, The American Nightmare announced that a 25-man Battle Royal will take place next week to determine the number one contender for Trick Williams' NXT Title. The 38-year-old also revealed that stars from other locker rooms will feature in the Battle Royal.
Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's UnSKripted, Bill Apter discussed the possibility of a partnership between WWE and TNA.
"He [Cody Rhodes] did say that there will probably be people from other locker rooms here. So that makes me think that they may be moving forward with not just WWE and RAW but with TNA. I have a feeling that this crossover is going to gain momentum. You know, recently, TNA let go of a lot of people, and they are restructuring their entire organization. TKO may be doing this thing of, 'I don't know why your company, WWE, never really crossed over with other promotions. Why aren't we doing this?' It's a different mentality!" he said.
Meanwhile, Cody Rhodes will defend the Undisputed WWE Championship against AJ Styles in an "I Quit" Match at the Clash at the Castle PLE this weekend.
