A WWE veteran recently shared his thoughts on Cody Rhodes' match at Money in the Bank, stating that the latter's decision to stay laid out after being pinned wasn't good. According to the veteran in question, Dutch Mantell, The American Nightmare should have been stretchered out of the arena.

Cody Rhodes teamed up with Kevin Owens and Randy Orton to take on The Bloodline at Money in the Bank's main event. Despite having the upper hand throughout much of the match, an interference led to Solo Sikoa getting the drop on him and taking the win with a pinfall. Afterward, Cody was seen lying on the mat for a considerable amount of time.

Speaking on Sportskeeda's Smack Talk, Dutch Mantell stated:

"An image in my head is Cody just laid there like a da*n, like a shot squirrel, and never moved. He is there. That's because he is a professional, and he knows he's gotta sell that. So if you're gonna sell it that long, you need to have the stretcher come in, cart your a*s out, if you are gonna lay there that long. I mean, that's thinking after the fact. " [3:12 onwards]

The WWE veteran thinks the match was lacking in general

According to Dutch Mantell, the main event of Money in the Bank was a downgrade compared to the rest of the matches on the card.

On the same episode of SmackTalk, the WWE veteran stated that the bout lacked the punch that previous matches had displayed. He explained:

"I think that match needed something else because it didn't really get the crowd buzzing. I think that was a down note on that match. And they worked their as*es off, I am not saying that. But I am saying for the fans watching it. I mean, they had seen some really good matches up to that. So I think that was a downer for 'em and they didn't... I don't know, I just didn't like it." [1:38 onwards]

For now, what is next for Cody Rhodes in WWE remains to be seen after the loss.
