Cody Rhodes and Gunther will collide for the Crown Jewel Championship at the WWE Crown Jewel 2024 Premium Live Event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The American Nightmare talked about his opponent for the upcoming event in a recent interview.

Gunther is seen as one of the most dominant men in WWE. The creative team has heavily protected him over the years, and he has proven his worth with hard work and determination.

While speaking in an interview with Flagrant, Cody Rhodes talked about his Crown Jewel 2024 opponent. The American Nightmare praised The Ring General for the work the latter has put in the gym to present the best version of himself on the main roster.

The Austrian star was not in the best shape during his time on the independent circuit and when he joined WWE. However, he put in the work during his time in NXT and brought out a completely different version of himself on the main roster.

New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE

"Gunther, he used to be on the independents... not a muscle you could see on him, a big, hefty, chop a tree down, killer dude. That manifestation of his goals is right there — you can see he's gotten in the best shape of his career, he looks incredible, he looks the part, and there's this weird online contingent that doesn't realize how important that is," Cody Rhodes said. The Ring General is the reigning World Heavyweight Champion. He won the title rather quickly after having a record run with the Intercontinental Championship.

Cody Rhodes talked about how the WWE Universe had the right to criticize Gunther and other superstars

Body shaming is never acceptable, no matter which business one works in. However, WWE's top babyface, Cody Rhodes, has a different opinion from many individuals in the fanbase.

While speaking to Flagrant, Rhodes took Gunther’s example to explain how important it was to stay fit in the industry. He went on to state that fans had the right to body shame superstars who they believed were not doing their best to stay on top of the game.

"We are wrestling with our shirts off, folks, you're standing next to some of the best athletes in the world. You'll hear fans like, 'You can't body shame wrestlers.' What are you talking about? We're standing there half-naked and you paid hundreds of dollars to sit there, you can body shame me all you want," Cody Rhodes said.

The battle between Cody Rhodes and Gunther at Crown Jewel 2024 will be a treat for fans. WWE could continue to push The Ring General by giving him another big win in Saudi Arabia.
