Last Saturday, The Bloodline targeted the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes at Clash at the Castle. A former WWE host now predicts that The American Nightmare will join forces with two top SmackDown stars to fight Solo Sikoa's group.
The two superstars in question are Randy Orton and Kevin Owens. After Rhodes defeated AJ Styles at Clash at the Castle, he was attacked by Solo Sikoa and his Bloodline associates, Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa. However, The Viper and The Prizefighter came to his aid before celebrating his victory. On a recent episode of his The Wrestling Matt podcast, former WWE host Matt Camp predicted the next step in that storyline.
As Money in the Bank approaches, Camp predicted that The American Nightmare will team up with Owens and Orton to square off against The Bloodline in a Six-Man Tag Team match at the upcoming premium live event:
"By getting Cody and Randy close to each other now, I think it's, to me, easy to point to the idea of Cody, Randy, and KO against The Bloodline at Money in the Bank. It's only three weeks away. There's no reason to force another Cody title defense. This is not necessary. Save it," he said. [From 08:42 to 09:03]
Is Cody Rhodes turning heel after WWE Clash at the Castle?
Despite AJ Styles saying "I Quit" to lose his fight against Cody Rhodes at Clash at the Castle, The American Nightmare still hit him with the steel steps after the match. WWE analyst Sam Roberts feels Rhodes' behavior could be the first step towards him having a significant character change.
On his Notsam Wrestling podcast, Roberts claimed the Undisputed WWE Champion's character could now become more edgy before he eventually turns into a full-blown heel:
"Whether it takes until WrestleMania, or however long it takes, I want it to get to a point where Cody comes to a realization, 'If I do this, there's no turning back.' And then he does. And now Cody's changed forever. And that's when we get Homelander Cody. That's when we get evil Cody. That's when we get this Cody who goes, 'Why are you booing me?' That's where I want it to go eventually. Not quickly. That's where I want to get with Cody. And for the time at Clash at the Castle, when he was holding those steps, I saw signs of this is not the person you show yourself to be on television."
The American Nightmare has been one of the top babyfaces in the Stamford-based company since returning in 2022. It would be interesting to see if he would turn heel as Roberts desires.
