A top UFC name made a special appearance at a recent WWE live event. Following the event, Cody Rhodes expressed his gratitude towards the UFC fighter.

Tom Aspinall is one of the top names in MMA at the moment. He was called up to face Sergei Pavlovich for the Interim UFC Heavyweight Championship on 11 November 2023 after Jon Jones got injured. After winning via first-round knockout, Aspinall became the interim UFC Heavyweight Champion.

Given that Tom Aspinall is from England, when WWE toured the UK this past week, Cody Rhodes introduced him to the crowd, who gave him a standing ovation. They were soon joined by Gunther, who suggested they take a photo-op together since this was a historic moment. This was the first time that the top three champions in TKO Holdings Group were in the same ring.

Following the event, The American Nightmare took to social media to express his gratitude to Tom Aspinall for attending the live event.

Tom Aspinall isn't the first UFC fighter to make a WWE appearance

Tom Aspinall isn't the first person from the Octogan to appear for the Stamford-based promotion. Over the past several years, many notable former UFC fighters have made appearances and even competed in matches.

The most well-known UFC Fighters who competed in World Wrestling Entertainment are Ronda Rousey, Ken Shamrock, and Cain Velasquez. Ronda enjoyed a successful tenure in the Stamford-based promotion during her time and won multiple championships. She even got to main event WrestleMania.

Ken Shamrock also had considerable success in the Stamford-based promotion. He previously won the Intercontinental and Tag Team Championships and the King of the Ring tournament in 1998.

However, Cain Velasquez's run in the promotion didn't go quite as planned. He competed in just one televised match and lost in two minutes to Brock Lesnar at Crown Jewel 2019.

It will be interesting to see if Tom Aspinall will also compete inside the squared circle one day.
