Cody Rhodes will not retire soon because he has set a goal for himself. The star has said that he won't quit until another WWE star loses to him.
Rhodes and R-Truth have a long history, as the two stars have wrestled each other multiple times over their careers in WWE. Truth defeated Rhodes a lot as well when he was Stardust and picked up an insane number of wins over him. For Rhodes, this has proven to be something he needs to put behind him before moving on.
Cody Rhodes invited R-Truth on his bus for a recording of the What Do You Wanna Talk About? podcast. The two talked about their history together, and Truth shared how Rhodes confronted him and said that he would not retire or leave the business until he defeated R-Truth, who left him lying in the ring looking at the lights.
"Before he came back, he said, 'I will not leave this business until you are looking up at the lights and your toes are pointing up.' I'm like, 'Why? Why would you do that to me?' He said, 'It's because you beat me in every character, and you broke my mirror' that you set me up on! I can go on and on about this story that we have man, but upon Cody making his return back to WWE and being the mega man that he is, we crossed paths again. He looked me in my eyes and said, 'It's coming.' I said, 'What's coming?' He said, 'You'll see,'" R-Truth said. (3:49 - 4:30)

Cody Rhodes is focused on his grudge against R-Truth in WWE
Cody Rhodes has spoken about needing to defeat R-Truth previously. While he beat Roman Reigns to become champion and "finish his story," he has another thing to do to finish his story.
Rhodes said that R-Truth had beaten him 42 separate times and that he needed to beat him so that he could achieve everything he actually wanted to in his career.
