Cody Rhodes has held the Undisputed WWE Championship since WrestleMania XL. Meanwhile, a former WWE employee believes that The American Nightmare can win another top title and unify the two championships.
The title in question is none other than the World Heavyweight Championship. Gunther recently captured the belt after defeating Damian Priest at SummerSlam. The Ring General will defend his title against Randy Orton at Bash in Berlin later this month.
Speaking on the Behind The Turnbuckle podcast, former employee Tommy Carlucci suggested that The American Nightmare could confront and challenge the reigning King of the Ring to a title unification match in the future.
Carlucci, who spent over 30 years in the Stamford-based company, claimed Rhodes should win that potential encounter to become the sole World Champion in the Stamford-based company.
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
"I would love Cody to jump in Gunther's face and say, 'You know what? You're the champ, I'm the champ; let's have one champion, and let's have a match and see who gets it.' Cody can definitely carry it. There's no doubt about it. Cody can carry one title for this company," he said. [3:23-3:38]

How long will Cody Rhodes remain the Undisputed WWE Champion?
Cody Rhodes successfully defended his title against Solo Sikoa at SummerSlam last Saturday. The American Nightmare will now put his title on the line against Kevin Owens at Bash in Berlin on August 31.
While addressing the future of the 39-year-old's reign as Undisputed WWE Champion on his Wrestling with Freddie podcast, former WWE writer Freddie Prinze Jr. predicted that Rhodes will remain champion for at least another year:
"Cody's numbers as champ are so good; he won't be losing any time soon against anybody. So, that's your safest pick of every pay-per-view for the next year: Cody Rhodes winning. Regardless of the odds stacked against him, he won [against Sikoa]," he said.
While many expect The American Nightmare to have a long championship reign, it will be interesting to see if Prinze Jr.'s prediction comes true.
