Multiple top WWE Superstars are rumored to fight Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 41. Wrestling veteran Tommy Dreamer predicted The American Nightmare will square off with a 260 lb star at The Show of Shows.
Heading into WrestleMania 40, Rhodes had a heated feud with The Rock. The Great One pinned The American Nightmare in a tag team match on Night One of this year's Showcase of The Immortals. On RAW After 'Mania, the 52-year-old legend confronted the newly-crowned Undisputed WWE Champion, promising to go after him upon returning from hiatus. Last October, The Final Boss made a surprising return at Bad Blood to make a cryptic, seemingly threatening gesture to Rhodes, Roman Reigns, and Jimmy Uso.
Speaking on the Busted Open podcast, Dreamer predicted that The Rock will be Rhodes' opponent at WrestleMania next year. He pointed out that he believes The Final Boss does not need to win the Royal Rumble to earn a shot at The American Nightmare's title due to his status as a director of the board:
"I do think it's gonna be Cody vs. The Rock at 'Mania. I do not think he needs to earn a shot at the Rumble because he's the boss. And to Bully's idea of that and Mark's idea, that Vince McMahon character, he can insert himself any way he wants," he said. [From 05:29 to 05:49]
Wrestling veteran thinks The Rock won't face Cody Rhodes at WWE WrestleMania 41
Unlike Tommy Dreamer, wrestling veteran Magnum T.A. predicted that The Rock would not square off with Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 41. He even wondered if The American Nightmare would remain Undisputed WWE Champion until The Show of Shows in Vegas.
Meanwhile, the 65-year-old disclosed that he believes The Final Boss will fight his cousin, Roman Reigns, at the upcoming WrestleMania:
"If Rock was there, it's the match that he wanted to do originally, which was him and Roman. I don't know that Cody will still be the champion by WrestleMania," he said.
It would be interesting to see if The Rock will return to compete at the Show of Shows.
