WWE Superstar Shotzi shared an emotional message on social media today after suffering a personal loss. The veteran returned to action last month on WWE NXT after recovering from a torn ACL.
The NXT star took to social media today to honor her mother-in-law, who sadly passed away. The 32-year-old noted that she supported her wrestling career and would attend every time she performed in Texas.
"RIP to my extremely loving and vibrant mother in-law. She opened her heart to me immediately and made me really feel apart of the family. She immediately supported my career watching everything WWE and showing up every time I was wrestling in Texas. She made multiple efforts to visit us in Florida and texted me constantly with hilarious baby photos of my husband," she wrote.
The former NXT Women's Tag Team Champion said she will always love her mother-in-law, and her support meant a lot. You can check out her heartfelt message in the Instagram post below.
"Having such a loving supportive motherly figure in my life was something so deeply special to me in more ways than I can say. I watched her even on her last days put her family first and make everyone feel her love. Seeing pretty much half the town of lytle texas show up for her really proved what an impact she makes on people. Knowing her made me understand even more why I fell in love with my husband. I will always admire and love you mama Emma💚," she added.
Shotiz tied the knot with her longtime boyfriend, Jesús Alfaro, in December 2023.
Shotzi returned to WWE TV last month
Shotzi returned to the company last month on NXT after recovering from a torn ACL suffered last year.
The former champion tore her ACL in an NXT Women's Championship match against Lyra Valyria on the February 13, 2024 edition of NXT. She missed a substantial amount of time before returning to WWE last month to help Tatum Paxley and Gigi Dolin battle Fatal Influence.
However, Fatal Influence defeated Shotzi, Gigi Dolin, and Zaria on the December 20, 2024, episode of NXT.
The veteran joined the promotion in 2019 and spent a few years on SmackDown before returning to NXT.
We at Sportskeeda Wrestling send our condolences to Shotzi and her family at this difficult time.
