WWE Hall of Famer Teddy Long recently praised a 44-year-old star who was released from the company last year. The star in question, Nic Nemeth (fka Dolph Ziggler), became the TNA World Champion at Slammiversary.
Nic was let go from the Stamford-based promotion in September 2023. Afterward, he wrestled in several promotions and ended up in TNA, where he became the world champion. His skills were never in question, considering he had a notable run in WWE with several championship belts.
Speaking on Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Time Machine hosted by Mac Davis, Teddy Long shared his thoughts on Nic Nemeth's current run. He stated:
"Congratulations to Nic, man; he is a super nice guy. I had the chance you know, to work with him in WWE. And just every day you saw him, he was the same guy. Good attitude, I mean, just unbelievable. So you never know where your blessings are. So you know this right here: this may be his time." [11:49 onwards]

Bill Apter also praised the former WWE champion
According to Bill Apter, Nic Nemeth's skills were not fully utilized in the Stamford-based promotion.
Despite having quite a few championship runs in Vince McMahon's era, Nemeth was not seen as the top star of the company. On the same episode of The Wrestling Time Machine, Apter said:
"He has got amazing charisma. He comes across great on TV, and he is a really good wrestler in the ring. He can work with anybody, big guys, small guys. He is a very compelling personality. Now that TNA has reshuffled what they are doing in so many ways, he is a good person to, you know, help lead that company into the new era of TNA." [11:17 onward]
Currently, fans must stay tuned to see how Nic's run as the TNA World Champion progresses.
